Resumen: La formación de valores constituye un problema pedagógico complejo comprensible a partir de un análisis psicológico de la naturaleza del valor en su función reguladora de la actuación humana. El amor a la profesión, la responsabilidad, la honestidad, el patriotismo y el humanismo, constituyen valores esenciales reguladores de la actuación de un profesional competente. Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica sobre los intereses y valores que regulan la actuación y la calidad en la formación profesional del estudiantado cubano de medicina, considerando afectación general en algunos valores como responsabilidad, laboriosidad, y honestidad, con el objetivo de proponer algunas acciones metodológicas en la implementación del Programa Director Nacional de Formación de Valores (PDFV) como parte del desarrollo de la Educación Médica Superior, en la asignatura de pregrado de salud publica desde lo curricular y extracurricular en la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas “Salvador Allende”

Summary: The formation of values constitutes a comprehensive complex pedagogical problem from a psychological analysis of the nature of the value in its regulatory function of human action. The love of the profession, responsibility, honesty, patriotism and humanism, constitute essential values of the performance of a competent professional. A bibliographic review of the interests and values that regulate the action and quality in the professional training of the Cuban students of Medicine was carried out, considering general affectation in some values such as responsibility, industriousness, and honesty, with the aim of proposing some methodological actions in The implementation of the National Securities Training Program (PDFV) as part of the Development of Higher Medical Education, in the Public Health undergraduate subject from the curricular and extracurricular at the Faculty of Medical Sciences "Salvador Allende"
